Founded and run hands-on by Ben Collins, we specialise in multi-stage paint correction and long-life Gtechniq & Gyeon ceramic coatings, applied in a fully controlled environment, never on a driveway or forecourt.

Tailored Detail was founded to bring a genuinely studio-grade detailing offer to Essex; the kind of work that, for years, meant driving into central London or the home counties. From our fully equipped indoor studio in Hawkwell, Hockley, we look after everyday daily-drivers, family cars, executive saloons, supercars, classics and small commercial fleets.
Every job is booked in personally with Ben, quoted individually and completed by hand. There are no rotating staff, no rushed valet slots and no compromises on preparation. If the paint needs three stages of correction, it gets three stages. If a ceramic coating needs a full 24 hours of undisturbed cure, it gets it.
Because we are studio-based, we control every variable that affects a professional finish, temperature, humidity, lighting, dust and contamination, none of which is possible on a customer's driveway or in an open forecourt. That is the single biggest reason our finishes hold up long after the invoice is paid.
We serve customers from across Essex, Southend-on-Sea, Rayleigh, Benfleet, Leigh-on-Sea, Wickford, Basildon, Canvey Island, Shoeburyness and Chelmsford, with pickup and drop-off available on request.

From Southend / Rayleigh
Follow the A127 towards Rayleigh, join the B1013 through Hockley and continue to Hawkwell, Ironwell Lane is signposted locally.
From Basildon / Wickford
Take the A129 towards Rayleigh, then follow signs for Hockley and Hawkwell before turning into Ironwell Lane.
From Chelmsford
Follow the A130 south, then the A127 east and continue via Rayleigh into Hockley and Hawkwell.
